Deep Tissue Massage:
A form of bodywork designed to relieve tension
in the deeper layers of the tissue. This massage is a highly-effective method
for releasing chronic stress due to misalignment, repetitive motions and past
lingering injuries. Temporary soreness is fairly common after the treatment.
This technique aids in the flushing and removal of toxins that get released
from the deep tissue stimulation.
Swedish Massage:
A very relaxing and therapeutic form of bodywork.
It combines oils or lotions with a variety of touches such as rolling, kneading
and percussion to help the body improve circulation. The benefits of Swedish
massage are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased
levels of stress in the body, enhanced mental clarity, greater flexibility and
improved appearance.
Medical Massage:
Medical massage targets specific medical conditions, for example
chronic pain, injured limbs, sports injuries, post-surgical recovery and nerve
compression are addressed using specific techniques that involve certifications and
different more advanced levels of training in areas like neuromuscular, cranial sacral,
nerve compression or manual lymphatic drainage or acupressure. We begin with a
detailed intake interview as well as an assessment and treatment planning. It is
focused on areas of concern but finished off with total body flush. I have experience with
clients who have come in for pain management, and recovery from surgical procedures
like knee replacements, hip replacements, and chronic neck pain or shoulder issues.
Hot Stone / Cold Stone Therapies:
Uses heated stones or cold stones placed on specific areas of the
body to deepen relaxation and promote improved circulation in the muscles.
The heated muscles release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly
than with a traditional massage. The cold stone is excellent to provide relief from
migraines, sinus headaches as well as reduce puffiness and constriction of muscles and
joints. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing and rejuvenating.
Sports Massage:
A form of medical massage which focuses on relieving an
injury or stressed area due to exercise. It is bodywork designed for highly-active
people who engage in athletics. Many sports can be hard on the body and often
lead to both short- and long-term injuries. Sports massage can help enhance
performance and prolong a sports career by preventing injury, reducing pain
and swelling, relaxing the mind, increasing flexibility and dramatically improving
recovery rates. This massage is highly-effective in encouraging greater kinesthetic
awareness which, in turn, promotes the body’s natural immune functions.
Lymphatic Drainage:
Lymphatic drainage massage, also known as manual
lymphatic drainage, relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment
or illness blocks your lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage massage involves
gently manipulating specific areas of your body to help lymph move to an area
with working lymph vessels. Lymphatic Drainage helps flush toxins, amp up
immunity, and nix water weight and bloating as well as help with natural facelift,
firm the skin after liposuction and giving birth, relieve sinus pressure from
allergies as well as refresh and help facilitate and expedite the healing of injuries.
It also relieves the swelling of edema and lymphedema, help in chemotherapy
as well as relieve fibromyalgia pain and arthritic issues.
Prenatal Massage:
Specifically designed for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman’s body
endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using
various techniques, prenatal massage helps reduce and release the pain and
discomfort in the joints and muscles die to weight gain and postural imbalance.
Neuromuscular Reprogramming (NMR):
NMR works with the Body’s Organizational Intelligence to reprogram the patterns
governing
coordinated movement. Change stored dysfunctional coordination patterns
into a functional, integrated operating system. Exercise will build muscle when
muscles are facilitated during activity. NMR helps relieve chronic areas of pain and
discomfort by reintroducing the corrective natural function of a muscle that has
been injured. It restores balance and improved strength during rehabilitation.
Myofascial Release:
A form of soft tissue therapy designed to eliminate pain, increase range of motion and
rebalance the entire body. Specific massage techniques are used to stretch the fascia
and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Direct
myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect myofascial
release applies
light pressure to gently stretch the fascia allowing for increased blood circulation and
relief from pain.
Trigger Point Therapy:
Trigger point therapy is a form of bodywork designed to stimulate specific areas of the
body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except
they occur in the core of the muscle rather than along the outer energy pathways.
These “knots” are built up throughout a person’s lifetime due to physical, mental or
emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of
techniques to help release the trigger points. The process can be painful at times, yet it
provides lasting effects that are profoundly transformative.
Active Isolated Stretching:
A dynamic therapy designed to improve your flexibility and overall well-being.
Stretching your muscles not only reduces your chance of injury, but it also strengthens
your tendons and improves circulation. Active Isolated Stretching allows the body to
repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity. This technique involves holding each stretch for only two seconds. This method of stretching is also known to work with the
body’s natural physiological makeup to improve circulation and increase the
elasticity of muscle joints and fascia.
Craniosacral Therapy:
A gentle, yet powerful, technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain and
mental stress. It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the
spine and around the skull.
Healing Touch Session:
A form of bodywork that cleanses and balances the energy system. A Healing
Touch session is a strengthening of the body’s natural self-healing mechanisms which
help to establish optimal health. This method works directly with your energy field to
remove blockages, detoxify your system and restore your vital life force. It involves a
gentle laying of hands to conduct the energy force between us enabling the
release of habitual mental and emotional stress to alleviate chronic pain.
Chair Massage:
A popular way of relieving stress and tension. This massage
is performed in a specialized ergonomic chair that I bring to your location or use in
office.
Along with the usual health benefits of massage, an added benefit of chair
massage is that it’s done over the clothing. This helps avoid the discomfort
you may feel by disrobing for a traditional massage. In addition, chair
massages take less time than a traditional massage making it convenient
to fit into a busy schedule. A great gift for employees who work hard to meet
goals and provide exemplary service! Available for corporate events.
